Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 21, 2026
Dream Corporation Inc. ("we", "us") provides the Japanese-learning app Haru Japanese (the "App"). Your learning records are kept only on your device and are never sent to our servers. This policy explains what the App stores on your device, how pronunciation works, the optional rewarded ads (Google AdMob), operating-system backups, and support emails you choose to send us.
1. Information we collect
We do not collect personal information through the App. The App has no sign-up or login, does not ask for your name, email, photos, location or contacts, and does not send your learning records to our servers or anyone else's.
The App contains no usage analytics, crash reporting or location tracking tools, and it has no in-app purchases or subscriptions. It does use Google AdMob for rewarded ads that you watch only when you choose to; section 4 describes what Google processes when you watch an ad.
2. Information stored only on your device
So you can pick up where you left off, the App stores the following in its private storage on your device (UserDefaults on iOS, SharedPreferences on Android). We cannot access it.
- Progress - stars for each stage, the course you studied last, level and XP, coins, and how many hints and revive potions you have
- Learning history - correct and wrong counts for each word, your mistake notebook, and stars for each ANIME · J-DRAMA scene
- Streak - the last day you studied, stages cleared today, and when you last opened the daily chest
- Haru's outfits - the outfits you own and the one Haru is wearing
- Settings - helper language, show romaji, sound effects, auto-play pronunciation and slow pronunciation
- Ad rewards - how many rewards of each kind you got from ads today, the ANIME · J-DRAMA scenes you opened with an ad today, the day you last got the daily chest a second time with an ad, and the day you last kept your streak with an ad (used only to count daily limits and never sent off your device)
Text you type into the word book search is used only to search on your device and is not saved.
3. Pronunciation (text-to-speech)
To play Japanese pronunciation, the App uses the text-to-speech feature built into your device. Only the Japanese words and sentences included in the App are read aloud; nothing you type is passed on.
On iPhone and iPad, the App uses the speech synthesis built into iOS. On Android, text is read by the speech engine you selected in your device settings (for example, Speech Services by Google), and that provider's policy applies to how the engine handles data. Google Privacy Policy - https://policies.google.com/privacy
"Listen and repeat" practice means repeating out loud by yourself. The App does not use the microphone or record your voice.
4. Ads and external services
The App uses rewarded ads from Google AdMob, provided by Google LLC. An ad is loaded only when you tap an ad button such as "Watch an ad to open for free"; simply opening the App does not start the ads SDK. If you watch an ad to the end, you get an in-app reward such as opening an ANIME · J-DRAMA scene, coins or a hint, or keeping your streak. Every learning stage can be used without watching ads.
While an ad is loaded and shown, depending on the SDK version, your device settings and your choices, Google may collect and use your IP address (including approximate location), device and advertising identifiers (the Android advertising ID, and the IDFA and IDFV on iOS), interactions with the App and ads, and crash, diagnostic and performance data. These are used to deliver and measure ads, for analytics and to prevent fraud, and are encrypted in transit using TLS. The App does not send your learning records, progress or word book searches to AdMob. How Google uses information - https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
On iPhone and iPad, the App asks whether to allow tracking the first time you try to watch an ad. If you don't allow it, the IDFA is not used and you may see non-personalized ads; you still get the reward. You can change this at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. On Android, you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device's ads settings (for example, Settings → Google → Ads; menu names vary by device).
For ads, the App uses google_mobile_ads (the Google Mobile Ads SDK) and app_tracking_transparency, which asks for tracking permission on iOS. The other open-source components included in the App (Flutter, shared_preferences for on-device storage, audioplayers for sound effects, and flutter_tts for pronunciation) run only on your device and do not send information to us or to third parties.
We do not share your information with third parties or outsource its processing. The ad-related information above is collected directly by Google through the App; we receive only aggregate ad impression and revenue reports that do not identify you. Downloads, updates and operating-system features are provided by Apple and Google under their own policies. 5. Device permissions
The App does not request device permissions such as camera, microphone, photos, location, contacts or notifications. For ads, the Android version includes internet access and advertising ID permissions (granted at install time without a separate prompt), and on iPhone and iPad the App asks whether to allow tracking the first time you watch an ad (see section 4).
6. Operating-system backups
If you have turned on iCloud Backup, computer backups or Android device backup (Google backup), your operating system may include the App's data in those backups. They are stored in your Apple or Google account and we cannot access them. Whether data is restored on a new device depends on your device and settings and cannot be guaranteed.
7. Children's privacy
The App is not directed at children, and we do not collect personal information from anyone, including children. The App itself has no payments, chat or other ways to interact with other users, and the only links to external websites are ads you choose to tap. While you watch a rewarded ad, Google may process the information described in section 4. Parents and guardians can contact us below with privacy questions.
8. Retention and deletion
Your learning records stay on your device until you erase them or delete the App.
- In My Page → Settings, tap "Reset progress" to erase all stars, coins, word history, your mistake notebook, items, outfits and ad reward records. Your helper language and sound, pronunciation and romaji settings are kept.
- Deleting the App removes all of its data from your device.
- Copies in operating-system backups must be deleted separately in your iCloud or Google account backup settings.
- Resetting or deleting the App does not delete ad-related records Google has already processed. You can reset your advertising ID and tracking permission in the device settings described in section 4, and manage ad settings for your Google Account at https://myadcenter.google.com . We cannot delete information held by Google.
9. Support emails
If you email us with a question or a privacy request, we receive your email address, your message and anything you attach. We use this only to reply and resolve the issue, and keep it only as long as needed to handle the request or as required by law. Contact us below if you'd like our correspondence deleted. Please do not send passwords or payment details.
10. Your rights and how to contact us
Because we do not hold personal information about App users, you can view and erase your in-app records yourself as described in section 8. For support emails we hold, you may ask us to access, correct, delete or stop processing them. For any privacy question, please contact us below.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when laws or the App's features change, and will post the changes on this page with a new effective date. If features such as accounts or analytics are added, or the way the App shows ads changes, we will update this policy before the change is released.
